چکیده
Introduction: Acute Disseminated Encephalomyelitis (ADEM) is an immunity-mediated central nervous system demyelinating disorder. Myelin Oligodendrocyte Glycoprotein (MOG) examination provides information about a patient's ADEM development status. A positive MOG antibody can signify first episode or incomplete recovery. This review aims to report case of pediatric patient with acute disseminated encephalomyelitis antibody. Case Presentation: We present 5-year-old girl symptoms low-grade fever, encephalopathy, blurred vision, numb and tingling sensations on hands feet, weakness, unable walk. Head MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) reveals lesions in the bilateral thalamus white matter left parietal lobe. There was also thickening optic nerves. Blood laboratory relatively normal, test positive. The then treated corticosteroids for 1 year had 2 recurrent episodes attacks. evaluation still 6 months after attack. After Intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIG) treatment given, resulting excellent clinical response no attack since then. Conclusions: cases have good prognosis IVIG administration, help other supportive therapy, improves recovery treating ADEM.

Acute disseminated encephalomyelitis (ADEM) is a monophasic clinical syndrome, characterized by immune-mediated demyelination of central nervous system neurons, which yield extensive damage in the brain and spinal cord.It usually affects children and young adults following infections or immunization. Here we describe a 9- year-old Fars female presented with acute onset of psychotic disorder, o...
متن کاملMyelin-Oligodendrocyte Glycoprotein Antibodies Spectrum Disorders
Myelin-Oligodendrocyte Glycoprotein (MOG) is an adhesive molecule responsible for myelin sheath structural integrity and maintenance. Patients with spectrum of inflammatory demyelinating disease particularly in central nervous system are reported to have antibodies against this protein. Diseases such as multiple sclerosis, clinically isolated syndrome, neuro-myelitis optica (NMO) spectrum disor...

Inherent abnormalities of myelin have been suggested in the pathogenesis of multiple sclerosis (MS). We investigated myelin in acute disseminated encephalomyelitis (ADEM) patients by magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS) and cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) analysis for citrulline, a marker of immature myelin. A citrulline peak was observed in the normal appearing white matter of 7/15 patients and of ...

Acute Disseminated Encephalomyelitis (ADEM) is a monophasic demyelinating disease most often triggered by infection or immunization, though associations with malignancy and stem cell transplant have been described. We described the case of a four-year-old boy with new-onset neurological symptoms associated with ADEM, acute leukemia, and equivocal evidence of Mycoplasma pneumoniae infection. He ...

Acute disseminated encephalomyelitis is an inflammatory demyelinating disease of the central nervous system that has been associated with influenza immunization, but only a few cases related to vaccination for influenza have been reported. Acute disseminated encephalomyelitis developed in a 42-year-old woman within 3 weeks of receiving the seasonal influenza vaccine. She had 80% recovery after ...
